Fish ponds in Kitui
Butterfly4Volunteers is devoted to the development of our own projects but we are always looking for funds and donations for the Butterfly Foundation. Recently we started a Fish Farm project in Kitui. Because of persistent drought the crops in Kitui are deteriorating every year and consequently poverty is increasing. Investing in a different economy, which is not depending on climate, contributes to a different standard of living.
Till present day these ponds are filled by hand by the local community. With pots, pans and water cans they walk to a well near a dry riverbed to fill them up and walk back to the fish ponds.
We want to strike a well near one of the fish ponds, with your help of course. There will be a central area where water can be pumped to the surface. By using a water piping system to the fish pond, the constant carrying of water to the well near the dry riverbed and back will be in the past. Pumped up water can also be used to cook and to water the small vegetable fields.

Rabbit breeding program Kitui
Together with the local community the Butterfly Foundation Support wants to breed rabbits in an animal friendly way. Ones fit for consumption these rabbits will be sold at the local market. The income generated from this will facilitate the continuous animal friendly breeding and it will also provide the community with a new income source.

Shimo La Tewa Health Centre in Mombasa
This health centre requires Volunteers in the following departments
a) OPD (Out Patient Department)
b) MCH/FP (Mother Chirld Health/Family Planning Department)
c) CCC and Pharmacy (Comprehensive Care Cleanic)
This Health Centre requires the following needs
. Renovation/construction of maternity wing for the delivery services
. Capacity building/training fo staffs locally and internationaly.
. Hospital essential equipments, e.g wheelcharis, nebulizers machines, theatre units fully equipped, extensions/renovation of existing infrastructures of more integrated services.

Schools in Kitui
There are two schools in Kitui which need help on the side of new classrooms, improvement on existing classrooms, books, pens, teachers quarters. Ndundune Primary School and Mutendea Primary School.

Children Home
Developing a children's home in Mombasa is one of our other projects. There are still too many children who can´t be given shelter. Butterfly4Volunteers wants to make a contribution to solve this problem. To prevent dependency on our Foundation we look for cooperation with other partners. From this new partnership the children´s home can be managed by creating a new foundation.
